SUMMER SOLSTICE: 7 PASSES & SORE ASSES

This route will take us from MHHD Parker onto rte. 285 over two 10,000 ft. passes (Kenosha & Red Hill) into Fairplay. Continuing south over Trout Creek Pass (9,346) into Johnson Village. From Buena Vista we will go to the summit of Independence pass (12,095) and have our “brown bag” lunch with 360 degree views! Then, we will go to the summit of Cottonwood pass (12,126) and return to Parker via rte. 24, going over Trout Creek Pass (9,346) again and then both Wilkerson Pass (9,507) and Ute Pass (9,165) before dropping down into Divide, CO and then Woodland Park. From Woodland Park, riders can take rte. 24 down to the Springs and home or go north on rte. 67 up to Pine Jct. and reconnect with rte. 285 back down to Denver. Route is approx. 408 miles, 428 via rte. 67. We will do a group photo at summits of Kenosha, Indy and Cottonwood passes only as those have parking areas. Please plan for 10 hours total, please pack your favorite lunch, snacks, water & layers of clothes. Temperatures can vary greatly. As a general rule, 5,000 feet of elevation gain equals 15 degrees in temp. drop. Meet @ 8am, KSU & Depart MHHD Parker at 8:10am.
